Dubrovnik’s Port of Gruž is located 3 km from the UNESCO-protected Old Town, one of Croatia’s most popular tourist destinations. For this project, we were engaged by Dubrovnik International Cruise Port Investment d.o.o. (DICPI), a company established by Global Ports Holding (GPH) and Bouygues Bâtiment International to develop, finance, construct and operate the Gruž Passenger Terminal infrastructure project.
GPH is the world’s largest cruise-port operator, serving more than 8.5 million passengers annually and managing numerous ports worldwide under concession agreements, including Barcelona, Málaga, Venice and Singapore.
In addition to a new cruise terminal, the project includes a shopping centre and a new international bus terminal with 700 parking spaces across an area of approximately 25,000 m².
Our scope was limited to the MEP concept design. The project was subsequently suspended following termination of the preliminary concession agreement with DICPI.
