The Economic Centre is a strategic project of Osijek-Baranja County designed to create new business infrastructure, strengthen the region's economic visibility and entrepreneurial climate, and provide facilities for trade events, fairs and congresses. The project is being delivered in partnership with the City of Osijek.
Construction of the Economic Centre was planned in several phases on a newly formed 127,655 m² site. Phase 1 comprises an approximately 5,000 m² multifunctional centre, while the completed Economic Centre is planned to include 73,500 m² of buildings and 35,000 m² of outdoor exhibition, demonstration and parking areas, visitor facilities, a park and children's playgrounds.
Phase 1 Construction
Construction of Phase 1—the Multifunctional Centre—began in July 2021. Designed according to sustainable building and environmental-protection principles, it uses renewable energy sources and meets nearly zero-energy building standards. It was completed and opened on 21 April 2023. The Phase 1 investment was worth approximately €8.461 million and was largely co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
Tering was engaged to prepare the HVAC and gas installation documentation, from the concept and main design stages through tender documentation and the detailed construction design.
