The proposal was developed for the international architectural and urban design competition for the Svetice Sports and Recreation Centre and Maksimir Stadium. The results were announced on 24 September 2026. The competition received 88 entries, and Studio 3LHD’s proposal was not among the prize-winning entries.
The concept “loud inside, quiet outside” combines the intensity of football with a considered relationship between the stadium and the city. The stadium is conceived as an active, welcoming public space that would host major sporting events while contributing to everyday life in Zagreb.
Public spaces, shared facilities and year-round use are important elements of the proposal. The project also explores opportunities to reconnect Maksimir and Borongaj and support the wider development of this part of the city.
We are proud to have been part of this interdisciplinary team and thank Studio 3LHD and our fellow partners for their collaboration. Congratulations to the award-winning teams.
