The distribution and logistics centre was designed as a warehousing hub to strengthen SPAR Hrvatska’s operational and distribution capacity. In addition to increasing capacity, the development supports the company’s continued growth and market position.
The concept design provides for two warehouse halls, designated Hall 1 and Hall 2. Hall 1 is a cold-storage facility for products that require controlled temperatures to ensure appropriate storage conditions.
Both halls share the same logistics layout
Hall 2 is a warehouse that does not require specialised temperature control, although the temperature must be maintained between 12°C and 24°C depending on the season. Both halls follow the same logistics layout, with two functional zones: a loading area for receiving and dispatching goods, and a racked storage area.
A smaller two-storey ancillary hall is planned alongside the two main warehouse halls. Packaging, cardboard and film will be stored on the ground floor, while the upper floor will accommodate administrative facilities for operational and office staff.
Additional ancillary buildings include a workshop and truck wash for SPAR Hrvatska’s vehicle fleet, together with a refuelling station for trucks.
Tering was appointed to design the HVAC and gas installations, from concept and main design through tender documentation to the detailed design.
